At Freemen House, leadership is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by guiding others through recovery, fostering faith, and building a community rooted in accountability, growth, and spiritual transformation. Our leadership roles are open to individuals who are passionate about serving others, have demonstrated personal growth in their recovery, and are ready to step into a position of influence and responsibility.

Leadership Opportunities

Freemen House offers two key leadership roles within our community:

    • Mentor residents through the challenges of recovery.
    • Provide accountability, encouragement, and practical support.
    • Lead by example in maintaining sobriety and personal growth.
  • Spiritual Lead (Click for Details)
    • Guide residents in exploring and deepening their relationship with God.
    • Offer spiritual mentorship, prayer, and encouragement.
    • Foster faith-based support and community within Freemen House.

How to Apply

The application process is designed to ensure that Freemen House is the right fit for you and that you are committed to meeting the requirements of our program. Follow these simple steps to begin your journey:

    1. Complete the Online Application: Fill out our detailed online application form. This helps us understand your background, needs, and goals. Be honest and thorough—your answers will help us determine how we can best support you.
    2. Review Program Requirements: Before applying, familiarize yourself with our Program Requirements. These include maintaining sobriety, working through the 12 Steps, securing employment, and participating actively in our community.
    3. Schedule an Interview: After submitting your application, we’ll contact you to schedule an interview with our admissions team. This is your opportunity to ask questions and discuss how Freemen House aligns with your recovery goals.
    4. Receive Acceptance: Once your application and interview are reviewed, we’ll inform you of your acceptance status. If approved, you’ll receive details about next steps and your move-in date.

Who is a Recovery Lead?

“A life lost”

The Recovery Lead provides administrative, recovery, and spiritual oversight for the House, and also oversees the day-to-day Resident adherence to the culture and expectations, alongside the Spiritual Lead. The Recovery Lead has personally journeyed through all the stages of recovery and is given a platform from which to assist others in that same journey. The recovery practices cultivated over time become further solidified as they are shared. Though a good portion of the role is upholding the administrative side of the House, the majority of the influence is derived from a life modeled before the Residents day in and day out. A lifestyle of sobriety is what each is after.

Qualifications

The ideal Recovery Lead possesses the following qualities:

  • Displays consistent character and humble leadership (a servant, not a dictator)
  • Altruistic/loves people
  • Possesses a selfless attitude
  • Possesses an administrative aptitude
  • Has a professional attitude
  • Has a spirit of hospitality
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Strong leadership
  • Strong boundaries
  • Actively seeking God as they understand Him
  • Hard worker
  • Confident
  • Money is not a primary objective
  • Recovery
    • Working a solid program
    • “Recovered” (i.e. “not new” in recovery)
    • Good reputation within the recovery community and the community at large
    • The Promises are coming true in life
    • Possess the inner strength to execute dismissal upon resident relapse and maintain personal stability/clarity

Who is a Spiritual Lead?

The Spiritual Lead provides administrative and spiritual oversight for the House, and models healthy living for and with the Residents, alongside the Recovery Lead. The Spiritual Lead is an individual who has actively sought God personally and the council of others and is eager to translate principle into practice. The House is a training ground for learning how to love others well, expressing the good things God has placed in him/her and calling forth the same in others.

Qualifications

The ideal Spiritual Lead possess the following qualities:

  • Wholly surrendered to God
  • Desires to walk with Holy Spirit in greater intimacy and power
  • Open to abandoning beliefs and thought patterns as God reveals Truth
  • Teachable
  • Exudes a contagious love for others
  • Displays consistent character and humble leadership
  • Complete absence of judgment of others
  • Money is not an object
  • Possesses a selfless attitude
  • Looking for a spiritual community in which to invest in and be invested in by
  • In a flexible season to engage fully in the life of the community
